Who is the face behind Shout Out!?
Shout Out! was founded by Hannah Ball in 2014 as she had recently moved to Bristol and felt there were not enough affordable drama clubs for children that aimed to boost their skills as well as teach professional skills.
When Hannah was young, she was incredibly shy around lots of people. At the age of 9, she was taken by her mum to the Lyceum Theatre to see ‘The Lion King’ and was completely blown away by how amazing it was and how much fun it must have been to be up on the stage and dancing down the aisles!
When she was 13, she joined a drama club which she attended twice a week for 3 years. Her confidence grew immensly and she began working for them at 16. She went on to study Drama and Performing arts in school and college and then completed a BA Hons Degree in Drama at Kingston University. Hannah has also been a member of the National Youth Theatre since the age of 17 and attended Identity Drama School whilst at Uni.
She has performed in numerous theatre productions and short films as well as touring many Theatre In Education productions.
When Hannah was 17, she started leading after school drama clubs at different schools around London and fell in love with it. She had the opportunity to write and direct a year 6 leavers play and decided it was what she wanted to do long term.
That brings us to 2013 when Hannah began leading a number of drama based workshops in numerous schools in Bristol for Unique Voice. Since then Hannah has worked in over 50 Primary and Secondary Schools accross Bristol and London and still leads workshops now.
Shout Out! began with just one Drama Club at PlaySpace in 2014 which has blossomed into a brilliant class is loved by all and so beneficial to the children involed. Hannah worked hard to build great relationships with many people and has since developed 7 more excellent clubs throughout each week!
